"AND THE HOUSE FROWNED" *

“And the House Frowned” is an ongoing series that dwells on the notions of longing and belonging. Acknowledging the relationship between oppression and suppression, this series focuses on the embedded thresholds and emotions. The body of works in this series aim to allow a moment of pause and reach to a certain degree of silence.

*“And The House Frowned” is a line from the poetry of Metin Altıok, a Turkish poet who was burned to death in the Sivas Massacre of 1993, along with thirty-four other intellectuals. His poetry dwells on the concepts of longing and belonging.
